Press Release

Local businesses sponsor CAMRA’s Great British Beer Festival Winter

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has announced the local businesses that will be sponsoring its upcoming Great British Beer Festival Winter, which will be held at The Halls in Norwich from 20-24 February.

Woodforde’s Brewery will be sponsoring the festival’s Main Hall. Woodforde’s Brewery lies in the heart of Norfolk and has called Woodbastwick home since 1981. Their beers are found on tap across the nation and they have won two Supreme Champion Beer of Britain Awards (1992 and 1996).

The Green Jack brewery is sponsoring the festival’s souvenir glasses, used by all festival goers to sample the wide selection of drinks found in the iconic halls. Founded in 2003, they are a multi-award winning traditional real ale brewery based in Lowestoft, Suffolk. They are now one of the largest real ale breweries in East Anglia, and have won over 100 awards at independent CAMRA and SIBA beer festivals.

The Great British Beer Festival Winter is also being supported by the blog, VisitNorwich: City of Stories (http://www.cityofstories.co.uk). While encouraging its readers to explore, travel and try new things, VisitNorwich also shares information and tales about the eclectic “city of stories”, Norwich, as well as bringing inspirational and unmissable experiences to its audience.

Martin Ward, the Great British Beer Festival Winter organiser says: “It is fantastic to have two breweries from the East Anglia region sponsoring our festival. We are excited for their involvement and to see them at the Great British Beer Festival Winter in February.

“We are also thrilled to welcome VisitNorwich as a main supporter of the festival. The blog, and the dedicated team of Izzi and Mel who run it, does so much for sharing local activities and stories from the Norwich area with a wide audience. We are excited to be one of the amazing events that come to the city.”
